As a middle schooler, his dream of playing baseball for the New York Yankees shattered when his cousin cruelly dismissed his aspirations, echoing the doubts he already carried within due to his father’s verbal abuse and ultimate abandonment. This crushing experience eroded Eddie’s self-worth, leading him to believe he wasn’t “enough.” He stopped dreaming big and his grades, relationships, and even his life choices suffered.
